Physician-Led, Bias-Free CME That Actually Sticks Built by working clinicians for working clinicians.

Founded in 2024 by two practicing physicians who got tired of industry-funded CME and forgettable lectures. We pair evidence-based teaching with retention science — so the learning lasts a year, not a weekend.

Our Story

Why We Built CME Travel Academy

Two practicing physicians. One shared frustration with how CME was being delivered. One mission to fix it.

In August 2024, Dr. Vimal George and Dr. Anush Pillai founded CME Travel Academy with a clear conviction: medical education should be honest, evidence-based, and built to change practice — not just check a box.

After decades of attending (and giving) traditional CME, we saw the same pattern: dense slide decks, commercial influence, and information that vanished within a week. The research is brutal — clinicians forget 50% of new content within 24 hours and 75% within a week.

So we built something different. Conferences in destinations worth traveling to. Curricula focused on the chronic diseases you actually see daily. And — most importantly — a full year of spaced-repetition learning and point-of-care references after the course ends.

"We don't just want you to learn something new. We want you to still be using it 12 months from now — at the bedside, with the patient in front of you."

— Drs. George & Pillai, Co-Founders

The Retention Method

How We Make CME Stick for a Full Year

Most clinicians forget 75% of new CME content within a week. We use three evidence-based learning strategies — and a full year of follow-up — to change that.

1

Spaced Repetition

Quiz prompts delivered at scientifically optimal intervals over 12 months — the same method that built medical school flashcards into a science.

2

Retrieval Practice

Active recall beats re-reading every time. Our follow-up prompts force your brain to retrieve, not just review.

3

Point-of-Care References

One-page summaries for every disease state we cover. Print them, save them, use them with the patient in front of you.

I had a wonderful experience with CME Travel Academy. The live online lectures were high-quality, engaging, and genuinely funny, making the learning process enjoyable. We covered essential topics like hypertension, CKD, ethics, and heart failure, and I love the flexibility of being able to attend from anywhere in the world. What truly set this experience apart was the interactivity. The lecturers gave immediate responses to our questions and provided real-time feedback. They were also incredibly accommodating when we had a sudden change in our schedule. It was a very worthwhile experience, and I highly recommend it to all my IM/FM colleagues.

My wife and I recently completed a CME Travel Academy course, and I was thoroughly impressed by the program's quality. Despite attending while on a cruise, the setting did nothing to diminish the academic rigor; in fact, it proved to be one of the highest-yield educational experiences we have ever participated in for our practice. Dr. Pillai provided excellent, evidence-based updates on CHF and HTN, while Dr. George delivered insightful sessions on CKD and Ethics, with the "Chronic Diseases and Modern Medicine" presentation serving as a particular highlight. Both presenters were incredibly engaging and charismatic, making the high-impact clinical updates easy to follow and immediately applicable to our workflows. Administratively, the scheduling was seamless, and the high-quality downloadable content, along with the promising spaced-repetition tool, adds significant long-term value. I highly recommend this for any clinician looking for rigorous, updated medical education in a fantastic environment.
